First Edition Yumi Matsuo Armchair Detective Archie
First published on August 30, 2003 by Tokyo Sogensha
What, the easy chair spoke! A bona fide armchair detective solves the mystery! Four incidents in which Archie, a talkative armchair born in Shanghai, and Mamoru of elementary school meet. A series of full-fledged mysteries with outstanding humor and the fun of solving mysteries. Mamoru Oikawa, who is in the fifth grade of elementary school and celebrates his 11th birthday, encounters a mysterious chair sleeping in an antique shop on his way to buy a gift for himself. I bought it right away and sat down at home, and a strange scenery that I had never seen before came to my mind....... The armchair was a "real" armchair detective who spoke human language and performed Sherlock Holmes-esque deductions. A series of works depicting the interaction between a genuine armchair detective named "Archie" and Mamoru. Yumi Matsuo
Born in Ishikawa Prefecture. Graduated from the Faculty of Literature and Education, Ochanomizu University. In 1989, he published "Cafe Terrace in Another Dimension," and in 1991, "Murder in Balloon Town" was selected for the Hayakawa Science Fiction Contest
