| Biography | Born in Asakusa, Tokyo in 1909 Graduated from Tokyo Art School (currently Tokyo University of the Arts) in 1931. While studying at Matsuoka Eioka, he formed a "Rouka Painting Co., Ltd." with Yamamotooka and Tatsuo Takayama, and engaged in a movement to innovate Japanese painting.
