"Man from the Cape" was selected as a special selection at the 14th Shinbun Exhibition, In 2018, he won the Academy of Fine Arts Prize for "Standing in Greater East Asia" at the Shinbun Exhibition. After the war, he became a member of the Academy of Fine Arts for 42 years. He served as a director of Nichiten and president of the Japan Ceramic Sculpture Society.
