First Edition Toshio Machii Blood Torpedo Hayakawa SF Series J Collection
Originally published on September 30, 2005 by Hayakawa Shobo
The patient with myocardial infarction who was brought to the radiologist Shoko Ishihara was Midori, the wife of her former lover, Dr. Haneda. However, during surgery to remove a blood clot stuck in a coronary artery, the fluoroscopic image reflected an eerie shadow moving in the opposite direction of the blood flow. Due to Dr. Haneda's strong insistence, it was decided to introduce "Asimov", which is in trial operation, to elucidate its identity. It was the world's first device that emitted a nano-unit beam from an inserted catheter and took real-time images of the inside of a blood vessel. Shoko wears "Asimov" goggles and experiences the world inside the blood vessels. Eventually, a mysterious object with a missile-like shape and a propeller-like flagellum appeared in front of her... Set in the alternate world of the human body, this modern version of "Microscopic Death Sphere" depicts a suffocating battle between tiny beings and humanity. Toshio Machii
Born in Aichi Prefecture in 1964. Graduated from the Faculty of Education, Nanzan University.
