Rote Island located at the southernmost tip of Indonesia. It is a world -known island known as a musical instrument Sasandu made of palm palm leaves. Rote Island floats southwest of Timor Island. A very small Ndao Island is located further west of Rote Island. Approximately 1,000 households are living. This island is known for squid (Kasuri weaving) and silver work.
